Banana Bread (1980)

This is a handed-down recipe by one of my late grand aunts popularly known to all of us as Mythili Chithi.    1980 in the title above is because it was the year that my mom learnt the recipe from Mythili Chithi. Our father had been transferred from Madras to Hyderabad and we met Mythili Chithi and  M.R. Srinivasan chitappa for the first time at Hyderabad.  Then through very close interactions, we became close to their family. Ingredients:  White Flour (maida) - 1 cup Wheat Flour (atta) - 1 cup Sugar or Jaggery - 1 cup  Water - 1/3 cup Big robusta bananas - 3 nos. Refined oil or butter - 1/2 cup 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Preparation: Mash the bananas, mix the sugar, and whisk. Add oil and water to the banana-sugar mix and continue to whisk. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla essence (optional) and whisk until the mix is even and the sugar is mixed.
